Oakcrest (Longest Post Ever)

Thanks Treb for the idea!!

Tomorrow is Oakcrest 2010 1st training. While thinking about this I couldn't help think about the amazing summer I had being Assistant Director this past summer. This was something that was never in my future but I am so grateful that others and the Lord prompted me to apply. It was a great blessing and an experience I will never forget. Now I want to brag about some AMAZING women who made Oakcrest 09 the best!
I look up to these 36 daughters of God. Each one of them have special place in my heart. I enjoyed learning about who they are and seeing who they became as the summer evolved. Things they thought they could never do...they did! Through bratty, winy, trouble maker girls they looked at it as an opportunity to grow and to become closer to their Heavenly Father. I loved watching them with their girls and seeing that LOVE they had for them. Never once did I hear a camper complain about her counselor, and come on who could not love these 36 girls!
I LOVE with all my heart these four girls. I loved being in the craft hut with my cousin and sister and helping them out with gluing flower pins. I loved our Wednesday night talks in my room. I loved having Ace and Red be my doctor. I loved how Red could tell if I was lying about being sick. I loved Aces sweet sweet personality. If I needed any boasting up I could always go to her. They were all Rock Solid.Oh Sister Treble....Its pretty sad that I don't have any pictures of us together...and this is the only single picture I have you. But I just wanted to say I enjoyed every single Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon with this girl. I couldn't have asked for a better teaching partner. I absolutely loved teaching with her. She loved teaching the girls and I loved hearing her testimony. I loved how she would come with new ideas of what she wanted to teach. Thank you Treb for being one of my rocks! These AMAZING girls were what made camp! Being in the kitchen for two years I know how hard it can be in their. But these girls pushed through and not only that did more than what was asked of them. They befriended the girls, they had hair days, they had such a spunky fun attitude that helped the staff members. Bubbles and Symphony did an awesome job being Ac's always wanting to make the kitchen a fun place. And the i could tell the Kds looked up to them for that. Plus come on...AMAZING FOOD!!!!
Dont you love this woman?! I sure do. I also love her husband...but sadly I can't find a picture of him. Grams and Gramps were amazing. They are so easy to love. I loved talking with them, loved eating with them and I loved joking around with them. I look up to them as if they were my own grandparents. I could never thank them enough for all they have done for me!Lastly, I can honestly say I could not be who I am today with out working with these three outstanding girls. With starting in January till August we were with each other 24'7. Plus who couldn't ask for the only best best friends I have now?! I couldn't have asked for a better Directorship to serve with. They taught me a lot on how to have faith in myself but also just having faith it will stop raining :) Feliz (I probably spelled her name wrong..i always do) for her kind hearted loving spirit. For always coming to check on me, when I should have been checking on her. I have never heard her say anything bad about another person. I love her so so much. I am double excited that she will be having her own girls this summer. She is going to be the bomb.com. Domino for always having me on my feet thinking. She can always make me think logical when I am overacting about something. I love talking to her. She is someone who makes me feel like I can do anything and nothing should stop me from doing it. Bunga...oh Bunga. Crazy crazy girl but this crazy girl has the Spirit with her constantly. She ALWAYS knew the right thing to say and I can not tell you how much I have learned for her. She has an amazing path infront of her and I am excited to see what she does with all that energy, craziness, love, and spirit. ( I personally think next General Young Womens President... ) Thank you so so much Bung for being their for me constantly. Thank you for showing me that I can do things. Thank you for LOVING me for me!!

I LOVE OC 09. Remember KYPO!!!!!!

Sweethearts

I was privileged with playing with this sweetheart Friday Night and her brothers! This girl is our new addition to our family. We are actually going to be B.F.F's because she is going to grow up with 3 older brothers to make her life.....lets say...fun :)

This sweetheart is a bundle of JOY! 2nd new addition to our family. I get to see her a lot and each time I do my heart melts. She loves to use her voice and before we know it she will be having a full on conversation with us!

These two girls have been a blessing in our family. I love each one of my nephews but Makaya and I needed some other girls to help us balance out!

This was also on Sarahs Blog and had to post it! It was forever ago and I have to have the best nephew to put a tutu on!

Saturdays Realization

Disclaimer: I will be complaining but I just need to get it out! You don't have to read! But its helping me realize this "Growing Up" process!

I have been working at my job for over two years and have had an amazing boss who supports me. Since December one of the "heads" over the store came and took over. My boss is still great but this lady has more say than he does. Its been hard with her "taking over". I have felt so under-appreciated and I have to watch everything I do so I don't make her mad.
Honeyville has been great at working with my school schedule and giving me as many hours as they can because they know I am a poor college student. When starting Spring Semester this certain lady cut me 5 hours then about 4 weeks ago she cut me another 3 hours. She hired two new managers, one is great but I was cut hours because of the 2nd one. There is no use for this manager. Now this starts why I am writing today. I have never been so poor than I am right now. My checks are getting smaller and smaller. I am not even paying for food or rent and if I was I would be homeless. Today has been hard especially. I am a giver! I love to give! I had a baby shower to attend and I wanted to get the best most useful present but was limited to $10.00 (NOT ME! I LOVE to spend a lot on other people).
As the day has gone on I have been getting more and more frustrated! How do people do this?! Live check to check and no spending money for emergency's or just a night out? Or those who don't even have a job?! This is where I stopped myself. Everyday at my internship I see families like this, just trying to get by. They are doing the best they can to stay afloat for their family. A scripture came to mind, which is Alma 36:3
"...for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their, trials and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day".

I need to do what this scripture says. TRUST in GOD. What I am going through is trial and trouble for me but I need to rely on him to be able to get through it. No, I will not be rich once I do, but I know he won't let me fall. I need to budget my money better and spend it on the things I need the most.

Therefore, I am grateful that I have a job that helps me pay for gas, bills, and other items. Even though I cringe just thinking about going back to Honeyville for another work day, I am happy I am employed there! And hopefully another job will be waiting for me when I am done the 2nd week in June!

Update

A lot has been going on in my life since the great news of Oakcrest.
We have had meetings after meetings trying to get everything planned. Its amazing how the Lords hand is in planning Oakcrest. Things have been falling into place and it great. I am just wondering when Satan is going to come in and try to destroy what we have been doing :) So far we have our Theme (which I can not disclose right now!), kapers (jobs) and schedule planned, our theme song is moving along GREAT!, classes planned, ect. We still have a lot more to do but we can't really because we need a staff! I am so excited for interviews! I am excited to meet the Staff of 2009! I just hope enough apply!

Christmas was GREAT! My brother and his family just moved to London and all i asked for was a plane ticket to visit. My parents are wonderful and got me just that! I am so excited to go, it will be during spring break so iwon't be missing school. Good news, my cousin Shannon is coming.(sarah, alan-hope thats okay!) She just bought her plane ticket yesterday and i am so happy I have a travel partner!
My good friend Chris gave me a great present too! He wrote me a song and every time I hear it i just have to smile. Its surprising how much Chris knows me, or its surprising how much i tell him! :D
I am excited for this New Year and what it will bring me!

3- I don't need to worry about my summer anymore. I am not going back to Ukraine or even working at Honeyville.
I AM ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF OAKCREST2009!
Its good news! I am excited and had NO idea that i would be back at Oakcrest. I really had come to the conclusion that I was done and moving on. But that changed for me two weeks ago when I got a phone call telling me that I needed to apply! I think its amazing how the Lord works. Because I wouldn't have done it myself, other people were inspired for me! I love it!
I have A LOT of work ahead of me, but bring it on!

Thats all! :D

The need to Blog

This past week I have had the need to blog but haven't had time to actually sit down and do it! I don't really know what I am going to talk about so bare with me!

So I voted! That was fun. I had to be into work by 8 so i went at 6:35am to start standing in line (since the polls did not open till 7). I thought we would have to stand outside so i got all blunded up to bear the weather. When I got to my voting station the door was wide open with only about 12 people standing in line. They put out chairs for us to sit on, so that was nice! I did my civil duty and voted for who I thought would do the best for the U S of A and utah. I had a hard time picking who I thought would be the best for the President because I honestly did not think that we had much of a good choice. I am scared but happy to see Obama become president. When I read Sarahs blog, she mentioned how this is going to be in our history books. It kinda made me see it in a new light. I am excited for this movement but I hope people will not be let down when that "CHANGE" doesn't happen overnight.

Yesterday I got an e-mail from ILP (the people who i did Ukraine with) inviting me to go with them to the Ukraine Summer Camp. To be honest I had a HARD time in Ukraine and sometimes absolutely hated it. I was reading my journal and its kinda depressing of how much I was expressing my hatered for Ukraine. Recently I haved missed it a lot! And getting this e-mail made me think about really going back. And your thinking,"if you hated it, why would you want to go back?" Well I want to for the fact that, I want Ukraine to be good in my head. I want to go back and do the things better. When I was there a lot of what ILP told me did not get done. So if i was to go back I would make sure they were telling me all i needed to. The good thing is all i have to pay for is airfair and spending money. I would only be there for about a month and half, so it wouldn't be taking my whole summer of working.

BUT my brother and sister inlaw are moving to London (or somewhere around there) and my parents and I are going to visit them this summer. We would visit them and then go to Scotland for a belated trip for my mom. I REALLY want to do this but i don't think i could do both.
What should I do? I could go to Ukraine and meet my parents in London before or after, but that might be more money. So tell me what to do! And are you willing to donate more money for me to go to Ukraine and teach those WONDERFUL children?? :D
